Earlier this semester, I went to DC to visit a few Smithsonian museums. On September 29th, I arrived at the Smithsoinian American Art Musuem to view different art styles and percieve the artist message.
"Who's the Illegal Alien, Pilgrim?" by Yolanda Lopez
As I walked through the museum, this was the piece that stuck out to me the most. The truth of explorers such as Hernan Cortes and Christopher Columbus of how they decimated civilizations of Native Americans and Aztecs is disheartening. Calling people illegal aliens because they do not look or sound like you is ridiculous.
